Canvases painted red to symbolise the strength and resilience of the First Nations people.

Survival Day

The first-ever Survival Day event held at the Griffith Aquatic Centre was a fantastic success! The atmosphere of everyone coming together to have fun in the sun, and watch the amazing dancers among other activities was wonderful.

I was honoured to be asked to hold the painting activities in the Elders tent, the artworks created on the day added to the cultural richness of the community.

A special thanks to First Nations artist Sarah Weymouth for her invaluable help throughout the day – her contribution was greatly appreciated by all.
