Yarning Circle in the Booligal School Native Garden.
Contributing to the Native Garden's cultural learning area at Booligal Public School by painting the yarning circle was truly fulfilling. Collaborating with local Hay Wiradjuri artist Emma Johnston, whose goanna design added a unique touch. Working alongside the children at Booligal School as they created their creatures for the yarning circle was immensely rewarding. Special thanks extend to Jade Auldist from Murrumbidgee Landcare Inc, Lindy Obrien, and the dedicated staff at Booligal Public School.
The flats at Hay/Booligal evoke a sense of home, isolation, and raw beauty. The strong sense of community at this remote small school, located in one of the flattest places in the Southern Hemisphere, is truly remarkable.
